Function Description:

Aglobe valve, different fromball valve, is a type ofvalveused for regulatingflowin apipeline, consisting of a movable plug or disc element and a stationary ring seat in a generallysphericalbody.

Globe valves are named for their spherical body shape with the two halves of thebodybeing separated by an internalbaffle. This has an opening that forms aseatonto which a movableplugcan be screwed in to close (or shut) the valve.
